The front depicts George Washington. The reverse features a sentry box from Castillo San Felipe del Morro, a historic fort in San Juan, symbolizing Puerto Rico's strength, and a "maga" flower (Puerto Rican Hibiscus), along with the inscription "Isla del Encanto" (The Island of Enchantment).
Mint Mark: The "D" mint mark indicates it was struck at the Denver Mint.
Significance: This quarter honors the U.S. Territory of Puerto Rico, which was ceded to the U.S. by Spain in 1898 and whose residents became American citizens in 1917.
