1979 Susan B. Anthony Dollar Coin
The front of the coin features a portrait of Susan B. Anthony, a leader in the women's rights movement and the first woman to be depicted on a circulating U.S. coin. The back of the coin depicts an eagle landing on the moon, with the Earth in the background.
The "D" mint mark on this coin signifies that it was struck at the Denver Mint. The mint mark is located on the obverse, to the left side just above Anthony's shoulder.
The Susan B. Anthony dollar was the first U.S. circulating coin to feature a non-mythical woman. The coin was minted from 1979 to 1981 and again in 1999. The Susan B. Anthony dollar faced unpopularity due to its similarity in size and color to the quarter, which led to confusion.
This a great coin for any collector.
