This is a large 19th century hand blown French Absinthe Glass. A thick base and a sturdy stem with a smooth pontil, really, really heavy!
This large, heavy Victorian absinthe glass has the typical conical shape of the period. It has the characteristic glassblower's chisel mark on the bottom of its stem, called a 'pontil', the circular striations and the irregular shape, evidence that it was blown.

Ideal for beer, wine, desserts, or Champagne, it's divine.
Absinthe glasses are always tall and wide to allow for the addition of volumes of water.
